Day 1 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp 💖✨

Fathima Memorial Training College successfully organized “Sahasrayam,” a five-day community living camp designed to blend learning with service and social commitment. Day 1 of the camp commenced on a serene and graceful note with a prayer led by Sreelekshmi, invoking a spirit of harmony and togetherness.

The programme continued with a warm welcome address by Vice Principal Anupama Miss, who highlighted the significance of community living in the holistic development of future teachers. In her inspiring presidential address, Principal Dr. Omana Sheelan emphasized the vital role of such camps in nurturing socially responsible, empathetic, and committed educators.

The inaugural ceremony reached its peak when Honourable MLA Vishnunadh officially inaugurated the camp. His motivating words left a lasting impact on the trainees, and his soulful song added a unique and memorable charm to the occasion. The event was further enriched by felicitation addresses, acknowledging the collective effort behind the camp.

Adding a festive and cultural flavour to the day, the students organized “Samrudhya,” a Payasam Mela, where a delightful variety of payasams were prepared and shared. This activity symbolized teamwork, unity, and the joy of togetherness, making it a highlight of the day. The inaugural session concluded gracefully with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Krishna Sree.

The post-inaugural sessions carried forward the spirit of learning and collaboration. Under the guidance of Jayasagar Sir and Team Tango, students actively participated in interactive games, group discussions, and reflective activities that seamlessly blended fun with meaningful learning.
A significant component of the day was the educational survey conducted at Mayyanad and Thrikkovilvattam Panchayaths, which provided trainees with firsthand exposure to community realities. The survey helped students identify children in need of educational support, transforming theoretical classroom concepts into practical lessons of empathy, responsibility, and social awareness.
The day concluded on a joyful note with a vibrant Music Feast at 7:00 pm, filling the campus with rhythm, enthusiasm, and youthful energy.

Overall, Day 1 of Sahasrayam set a strong foundation for the days to follow, enabling trainees to experience the joy of collective living while embracing the deeper purpose of the teaching profession—to serve society with compassion, commitment, and integrity.

Day 2 💖– Sahasrayam Community Living Camp

The second day of Sahasrayam unfolded with renewed energy and enthusiasm as the trainees began the morning with a refreshing fitness session, setting a positive and disciplined tone for the day’s activities.

The academic highlight of the day was an inspiring session by the renowned teacher motivator Mr. Nazim Yahia on the topic “Crafting Careers: From Aspiration to Achievement.” His powerful and thought-provoking words encouraged students to dream boldly, believe in their potential, and remain steadfast in pursuing their goals. The session left the participants deeply motivated, confident, and uplifted.

The afternoon sessions transformed into a celebration of creativity and cultural appreciation. Mr. Satheesh Kochunarayan, through his engaging presentation titled “Craftopia: A World of Handmade Wonders,” introduced students to the artistic world of handicrafts and emphasized their significance in preserving tradition and heritage. The session sparked curiosity and admiration for craftsmanship among the trainees.

A deeply touching experience followed as the students visited Sadhanam, the Government Old Age Home at Anchalummood. The visit was marked by heartfelt interactions with the residents, as trainees spent quality time sharing conversations, laughter, and warmth. This experience instilled a strong sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility in the students.

The day concluded on a calm and refreshing note with a serene beach visit, offering the trainees a peaceful pause to reflect and rejuvenate amidst the soothing rhythm of the waves and the beauty of the setting sun.

Overall, Day 2 of Sahasrayam beautifully blended physical wellness, intellectual growth, creativity, and social sensitivity, leaving participants enriched both emotionally and intellectually.

Day 3💖

Day 3 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp

The third day of Sahasrayam unfolded as a vibrant blend of wellness, knowledge, service, and cultural celebration, offering participants a truly enriching experience.

The day began with a rejuvenating yoga session, which helped nurture both physical well-being and mental clarity. This was followed by a wholesome breakfast that energized the trainees for the day’s demanding yet fulfilling schedule. One of the major highlights of the day was the medical camp organized at N.S. Hospital, where healthcare services in Ophthalmology, ENT, General Medicine, and Dental care were provided. This meaningful initiative extended vital health support to the community and strongly reflected the camp’s commitment to social welfare and service.

The afternoon session focused on professional and personal development. A thought-provoking keynote address was delivered by Dr. E. K. Jijan, Associate Professor, Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram, on the topic “Building Bonds: People Skills in the Life of a Pedagogue.” The session highlighted the importance of communication, interpersonal relationships, and emotional intelligence in the teaching profession, leaving participants with valuable insights for their future careers as educators.

The evening brought a joyful and festive transformation with “Kappayum Curriyum,” a lively cultural programme sponsored by the Principal of FMTC. The campus resonated with laughter, music, and cheer as students actively participated in the celebrations. The event was further enhanced by charming Onam Mood On decorations, which filled the atmosphere with traditional warmth and festive spirit.

Overall, Day 3 of Sahasrayam beautifully wove together health awareness, community service, professional learning, and cultural enjoyment, making it a memorable and meaningful day for all participants.

Onam Celebration at Fathima Memorial Training College – 2025

Onam 2025 at Fathima Memorial Training College was celebrated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the rich cultural heritage, warmth, and vibrance of Kerala’s most cherished festival. Dressed gracefully in traditional attire, students began the day with a delicious Kerala breakfast, which set the perfect festive mood for the celebrations ahead.

The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mr. Ajay Chandran, Film Chamber Secretary, whose presence added significance to the occasion. The celebration was further enriched by the Principal’s heartfelt Onam message, which emphasized the values of harmony, gratitude, and togetherness symbolized by the festival. The campus soon came alive with colour, joy, and cultural pride.

A series of engaging competitions followed, with “Malayali Manka” standing out as a highlight, showcasing the talents of students in dance and music. Adding a meaningful social dimension to the celebration, the NSS Programme Officers organized the distribution of Onam kits, spreading happiness and reinforcing the spirit of sharing and community service.

The most anticipated moment of the day was the grand Onam Sadhya, where students and faculty gathered to relish the rich and authentic flavours of Kerala cuisine, traditionally served on banana leaves. The shared meal beautifully embodied the spirit of unity and tradition that Onam represents.
The festive atmosphere continued into the afternoon and evening with a harmonious blend of culture and fun. The Vanchi Patt competition added cultural depth to the programme, while light-hearted games such as musical chairs filled the campus with laughter and cheer. As the celebrations drew to a close, tea and snacks were served, followed by the much-awaited Fusion Ganamela, which filled the air with music, rhythm, and joy, bringing everyone together in celebration.

Overall, Onam 2025 at FMTC stood out as a memorable celebration of tradition, cultural expression, social responsibility, and togetherness. The event strengthened bonds among students and faculty, leaving behind cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for Kerala’s rich heritage.

Concluding Day - Day 5 💖 – Sahasrayam Community Living Camp

The concluding trip to Thenmala and Palaruvi beautifully encapsulated the true spirit of Sahasrayam. More than just a recreational outing, the journey emerged as a deeply enriching experience that blended exploration, friendship, and quiet reflection.

Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, the soothing sound of cascading water, and the joy of shared travel, the participants found moments of relaxation and togetherness amidst nature. The scenic beauty of Thenmala and the majestic charm of Palaruvi Waterfalls provided a perfect backdrop for bonding, laughter, and introspection, creating memories that will remain etched in the hearts of all who took part.

This final journey symbolized the very essence of the camp—learning together, living together, and growing together. As Sahasrayam came to a close, it left behind not just unforgettable experiences, but also strengthened relationships, renewed perspectives, and a deeper appreciation for unity, community, and the beauty of nature.
