CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

As part of the Capacity Building Programme organized at Fathima Memorial Training College (FMTC), Mylapore, in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework (2005), the B.Ed. students actively participated in a range of creative activities aimed at strengthening their professional and pedagogical competencies. The English Department made a significant contribution to the programme by presenting an engaging skit based on the theme “Sharing and Caring.”

The skit effectively portrayed the importance of values such as kindness, empathy, cooperation, and mutual support in everyday life, especially among school students. Through simple yet impactful situations, the performance highlighted how sharing and caring can build positive relationships and create a supportive learning environment. The skit emphasized moral values that are essential for holistic development and social harmony.
In the performance, I played the role of the narrator, guiding the audience through the storyline and connecting the scenes with meaningful explanations. This role helped in clearly conveying the message of the skit and maintaining audience engagement throughout the performance. The experience enabled me to apply educational concepts in a creative context while enhancing my communication skills and confidence. It also strengthened my understanding of how dramatization can be an effective pedagogical tool and reinforced the importance of value-based education and social responsibility in the teaching profession.
