As part of its commitment to holistic student development, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam, organized a Conscientization Programme on “Raising Awareness on Adolescence and the Art of Healthy Living” for the 9th standard students of Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Thevally, on 25th September 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The programme was conducted in the school auditorium with the aim of creating awareness about the physical, emotional, and psychological changes experienced during adolescence.
The session was handled by Mini and coordinated by Mrs. Jisha, the school counsellor. Through an interactive and engaging approach, the students were guided to understand adolescence as a natural and crucial stage of growth. The session emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, emotional control, and positive thinking as essential components of a healthy lifestyle.
Real-life examples and open discussions encouraged active student participation, allowing learners to share their thoughts and clarify doubts freely. The programme also addressed issues related to stress management, peer pressure, self-confidence, and mental well-being, helping students gain clarity and confidence to face adolescent challenges.
Overall, the conscientization programme proved to be informative and impactful. It inspired students to adopt healthy habits, develop emotional balance, and make responsible choices, reinforcing the importance of leading a disciplined and purposeful life during adolescence.
