Tharanga- arts festival

Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, came alive with colors, rhythm, and artistic brilliance during the Arts Festival 2025, held on February 24th and 25th. Organized by the Tharanga Arts Club under the vibrant College Union, the two-day event featured electrifying performances, energetic competitions, and spectacular showcases of talent across music, dance, drama, and visual arts.

For me, this festival was more than just an event—it was a journey of self-discovery. I had the privilege of winning prizes in various individual as well as group items, which filled me with immense joy and pride. It was truly the best platform that brought out the finest in me, helping me explore my hidden potential and gain confidence in my creative abilities.
With the spirit of unity and joy lighting up the campus, students embraced their artistic sides and celebrated the essence of expression. The festival stood as a dazzling blend of tradition and modern flair—an unforgettable experience for all!

Celebrating Mother tongue Language Day

On February 21, 2025, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, came alive with colors of culture and words of wisdom as the Malayalam Department hosted a vibrant celebration of International Mother Language Day. The event beautifully showcased the essence of linguistic diversity, reminding everyone that every language carries within it a world of identity, heritage, and emotion.

Students and faculty filled the day with soulful poetry recitations, captivating cultural performances, and thoughtful discussions on the importance of cherishing and preserving mother tongues. The atmosphere was one of pride and belonging, as voices blended to honor the richness of multilingualism.
More than a celebration, the program was a heartfelt tribute to the power of language—an enduring thread that unites communities, preserves traditions, and shapes who we are. The day concluded with a resonant reminder that protecting our native languages is protecting the very soul of our culture. 🌿✨

Anti-bullying Awareness

On 19th February 2025, Group 4 of Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, organized a powerful and empathetic Creative Practice Assembly on Anti-Bullying Awareness at the Seminar Hall. Through compelling skits, striking visual storytelling, and emotional performances, the group highlighted the serious impact of bullying on students’ mental health, confidence, and overall well-being.

Centered on the theme “Implement Effective Strategies to Prevent and Overcome Bullying,” the program stressed the values of kindness, inclusivity, and the courage to speak up against injustice. The heartfelt presentations and real-life reflections deeply moved the audience, inspiring a collective call to create a safer, more supportive campus.

The assembly served as a strong reminder that awareness sparks change—and with unity and compassion, we can stand firm against bullying in all its forms.

Valentine's Day celebration - Lovender



On 14th February 2025, the Department of English at Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam, transformed the campus into a haven of love and joy with its enchanting Valentine’s Day celebration, “Lavender.” Beginning at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall, the program was a graceful fusion of elegance, emotion, and artistic expression.

The celebration unfolded like a bouquet of love in all its hues—self-love, friendship, compassion, and togetherness. The soothing lavender theme, symbolizing calmness and devotion, set the perfect tone for an afternoon filled with soulful music, heartfelt poetry, lively games, and memorable moments that captured the very spirit of Valentine’s Day.

Adorned with vibrant decorations, the venue radiated warmth as students enthusiastically joined in, creating memories woven with laughter and affection. More than just a celebration, Lavender was a gentle reminder that love transcends boundaries and always begins with kindness.
