NSS ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Fathima Memorial Training College (FMTC), Mylapore, Kollam, successfully organized the NSS Orientation Programme (Unit No: KL-07-178) on May 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted with the objective of familiarizing students with the ideals, objectives, and activities of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The event commenced with a warm and lively anchoring by Ms. Aleena from the English Department. This was followed by the recitation of the Fathiha by Ms. Shefna, setting a solemn and reflective tone for the programme. A melodious rendition of the NSS song by Ms. Keerthi and Ms. Arunima, also from the English Department, added a spirited beginning to the session.
The Vice Principal, Mrs. Anupama M. R., delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the pivotal role of NSS in nurturing leadership qualities, empathy, social responsibility, and a spirit of selfless service among students. Her address highlighted the importance of student participation in nation-building activities through community engagement.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Gopakumar G., Associate Professor and NSS Programme Officer, BJM Government College, Chavara, led an inspiring and interactive orientation session. His presentation, enriched with humor, music, real-life experiences, and practical insights, effectively conveyed the vision and objectives of NSS. The session kept the audience actively engaged and motivated, reinforcing the values of social commitment and volunteerism.
Mrs. Asha Rani P., NSS Programme Officer of FMTC, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the resource person for the enlightening and motivating session. NSS Secretary, Mr. Ragesh Nair R. S., shared his impressions of the programme, appreciating the guest’s inspiring guidance and the relevance of the orientation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Alfiya from the Physical Science Department, acknowledging the efforts and contributions of all organizers, participants, and volunteers.
Overall, the NSS Orientation Programme – 2025 proved to be a meaningful and inspiring experience, successfully instilling enthusiasm, awareness, and a strong sense of social responsibility among the NSS volunteers of FMTC.
